Siam Ocean World is one of the largest aquariums in Southeast Asia located on the basement of the Bangkok’s newest upscale shopping, Siam Paragon, with covering area of 10,000 square meters. It is a significant project investment of US$30 million (approximately 1.26 billion baht) operated by the world's leading aquarium operators, so called the Oceanis Australia Group, with more than 15 years experience in the aquarium business.
The aquarium has the capacity to hold more than 4 million litres of water and is described as “Thailand’s first and Southeast Asia’s biggest aquatic education and entertainment centre”. It showcases more than 30,000 marine animals and as many as 400 aquatic species. These include Seals, Blue Ringed Octopus, Ragged-tooth sharks, Stingrays, Leafy Sea Dragons, Giant Spider Crabs and others.
You can take your journey through Siam Ocean World in seven different zones;
1. Weird and Wonderful
Some of the most amazing aquatic animals are showcased in this zone.
2. Deef Reef
Deep Reef represents a wide variety of magnificent coral reefs from around the world which is considered as one of Siam Ocean World‘s most interesting zones.
3. Living Ocean
The principles of survival in the aquatic world are provided in this living ocean zone.
4. Rainforest
Explore the interrelationships between plants and animals within the forest.
5. Rocky Shore
See animals’ adaptations and behaviors to survive in the pounding waves, intense sunlight, lack of oxygen and keen-eyed predators.
6. Open Ocean
The Open Ocean Zone illustrates the fragile relationship between predators and prey in the open spaces of the once
7. Sea Jellies
Jellies are one of the most widespread species on earth. They has no skeletal structure and few internal organs.
